The Catholic Church Celebrates Seven Sacraments

The sacraments are a channel of grace.
Baptism is usually celebrated during a weekend Mass or following the 10:00 Mass. Please contact the parish office for scheduling information
Confirmation is celebrated with eighth and ninth graders on a date in the spring, following several months of preparation
Holy Eucharist is celebrated with second graders on a date in the spring following preparation during classes received at the parish school or through our parish school of religion (PSR)
Adult Baptism, Confirmations, and Eucharist are part of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults. Information on this program is included in the "Religious Formation" of the educational section
Anointing of the Sick can be requested at any time that someone is suffering from a serious illness or is facing surgery. Communal celebrations of the sacrament are offered as follows: the 5th Saturday of the month following the 4:00 p.m. Mass at St. James; and once a year (usually in October) during the 5:30 p.m. Saturday and 10:00 a.m. Sunday Masses at St. Patrick. Watch the bulletin for announcements.
Reconciliation (Penance) is celebrated several times a week. Please check the home page or bulletin for the times.
Sacrament of Matrimony is usually celebrated on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements should be made with the priest at least six months in advance of the desired wedding date.
Perpetual Adoration is held around the clock at St. Mary's Hospital Chapel. Volunteers commit to one hour per week of praying in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.
